At the Navy Yard

Joyce had one of those all girl parties today which meant Richard and the kids were not invited. So Richard threw the kids into the truck and headed for the Washington DC Navy Yard. The kids got a tour of the building where Richard works, followed by a walk around the base to see the Historic relics that are everywhere. Then it was off to the USS Barry for a tour of the Ship, rounded off with a romp in the base park to view the old stuff there. The rain started while they were at the park so the three went inside the Navy Museum to see the exhibit on the Korean War. The museum gift shop was not kind to the old credit card as each of the three adventures left with a USS Barry hat. It was time for some refreshments but the rain was still coming down so they went back to Richard's building where they had a picnic at his Desk. After the long drive back to Dale City the trio had a proper dinner followed by a stop at Best Buy for some new music. A check of the watch showed the magic hour had passed, Joyce had her girl time and they could go home.
