Christmas 2001

Christmas blew in this year on a cold wind to chill everyone down. After a record setting November and December heat wave on the eastern coast of the United States the weather broke and cooled down to the high twenties on the evening of the 23rd of December. Coincidentally that is also the day that our house heating system decided to pack up and stop working. It was futile to get it repaired before Christmas so we bundled up and had a traditional old time holiday. COLD!

The kids woke early in the morning, before the sun was up. Mom and Dad stayed in bed as long as they could. Ramana finally had enough and got the adults up to start the day. The gifts were exchanged with the expected noise and excitement. Tristin finally got his Playstation2 and Ramana the TV and electronic Keyboard she wanted. Dad received several Doctor Who figures and some cases to display them. Mom got a beautiful faceted heart shaped blue topaz necklace.

Roxan's family in California sent many nice gifts, they are always very generous. What good friends. We got to open a gift that came all the way from England this year. Matt and Sarah, two nice people Richard met through his web site, sent a gift of tea that we are excited to try. (as soon as we figure out how to brew it)

We filled the day with movies, Playstation hookup and games, Piano stand assembly and lessons on the keyboard. Ramana even made a big batch of chocolate chip cookies to warm the house up and snack on.

What a great day.
